Vadodara city is full of traffic islands installed with a lot of sculptures. Most of these were made by the local artists and sponsored by the industries of Baroda.

Vad Circle

Vad Circle: Located on the road from Nizampura to Channi area, the sculpture in this circle was shaped by Nagji Patel and commissioned by IPCL. The sculpture is sculpted from sandstone. It was placed in its current position in 2015, and in the beginning, it was placed on the road to MSU Pavillion to Nizampura in 1991.

Genda Circle

Genda Circle: Located on road to Vadodara Central the huge rhino was made by Narottamdas Kavaiya (also known Narottam Luhar). It was commissioned by Indubhai Patel, founder of SIECL (Sayaji Iron & Engg Company Ltd) in the 1970s. The rhino was made from iron scraps of the SIECL plant, weighs almost 3 tonnes and is supposed to represent brutal force, aggressiveness & strength. The circle came to be known as the Genda Circle as the Rhino translates to Genda in Gujarati.

Abacus Circle: Earlier known as Akshar Chowk Circle this particular sculpture was located on road to Mujmahuda to Padra Road. But the circle was removed in 2014, without any reason & in 2017, it was again placed near Sama Crossroads. It was also made by Nagjibhai Patel and was commissioned by Transpek Silox Company. The circle is named like it because it resembles an abacus (ancient arithmetic calculator).
