Established in the year 1930, The Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club is Gujarat’s only private golf course. Also known as the GBGC the club is set up in and around the Lukshmi Vilas Palace compound.
The Golf Course was created by Maharaja Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad (the grandson of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III) for the use of his European guests. Later in the 1990s, Samarjitsinh Gaekwad renovated the Golf Course and opened it to the public. The Club now has more than 900 Members. In 2004, the Golf Course was expanded into Stately Course managed by the Gaekwad Baroda Golf Club.
Designed by Ranjit Nanda, the course is a Full Length 18 Hole Course. With its multitude of old-world structures & the ever-present peacocks, birds, and monkeys it is an enthralling and almost royal experience to play the club & ball sport around here.
