In the middle of the hustle and bustle of a market place is situated, the home of a god, Lord Krishna. The ISKCON  (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Temple is a temple dedicated to Radha Krishna, the sibling trio of Lord Jagganath, Lord Balbhadra their sister Subhadra and Gaura Nitai,  situated near the Hari Nagar Market along the Gotri Road, Vadodara (Baroda), and was built in the year 1999 .

The temple stands in a huge precinct that consists of the main temple that is surrounded  by beautiful and lush gardens, as well as ashrams for men, women and elderly guests . Also included in the precinct is a farm which houses cows, which are prominently associated with Lord Krishna. There is also a place called the Govinda’s Restaurant which serves traditional Gujarati items as well as South Indian Items.

The main three altars of the temple are topped by three beautifully decorated ‘shikharas’ and the sabha mandapa of the temple is topped by a huge dome which is embellished with paintings on the inner side. The temple is designed in such a way that the interiors are always abundantly flooded with daylight. Outside the temple is a ‘Tulsi Kyara’ as it is customary to worship the Goddess Tulsi to be worshiped alongside Lord Krishna.

ISKCON Temple is one of the many temples that organises the ‘Rath Yatra‘ – The ceremonial procession carrying the deities on a chariot around the city, this procession attracts hordes of people who pull this chariot across the city with utmost devotion for their Lord.

The ISKCON temple is peaceful refuge in the middle of the busy and noisy life of the city and offers a spiritual and tranquil shelter from the busy life of the city.
